Joi's Vision
I started TrueJoi Couture with a simple question: Why couldn't clothing be both beautiful and comfortable?
As a 4'10" woman who's always loved fabric and bold self-expression, I've never felt at home in mass-produced fashion. The clothes just didn't fit—physically or emotionally. They were too stiff, too bland, too far from what I imagined for myself: something versatile, flattering, and made to reflect how I actually live.
One day, I bought a sewing book and some fabric from Paris, and I made my first jacket. It wasn't perfect, but it was mine. I knew it could be better, so I went to my stepmom Becky, who's been in my life since 1981 and has decades of experience as a fabric artist. Together, we refined the pattern and made something timeless—a luxurious, comfortable, and beautifully proportioned piece I could wear anywhere. I never liked clone-wear.
When strangers started asking where I got it—or tried to buy it off me—I knew I wasn't alone. Other women wanted this too: clothes that feel as good as they look and reflect exactly who we are.
That's what TrueJoi Couture is all about. This brand is my love letter to individuality and comfort. I don't follow trends—I follow joy. And I design for women who want their clothing to speak, stand out, and support them every step of the way.
